Bone and joint infections are an important problem encountered in the care of orthopaedic patients. They vary in regard to pathogenesis, diagnostic investigation and treatment. They frequently result in high mortality rates. Early detection and treatment are paramount for optimal eradication of the infection. Treatment often involves a multidisciplinary approach including several specialists such as orthopaedic surgeons, infectious diseases specialists, plastics and vascular surgeons, as well as PRM physicians and physical therapists.
To share knowledge and improve care for our community of patients with bone and joint infections SICOT-J will be honored and grateful to receive articles on how orthopaedic surgeons, diagnostic and interventional radiologists, and infectious diseases specialists approach and manage these patients.
