The Education Academy of SICOT was created by the Executive Committee in May 2016 for consolidation of all educational efforts of SICOT and to ensure greater coordination and synergy between the different committees broadly concerned with education. The following committees are joined together in this effort:
1. Education Committee with the e-learning (SIGNEL) subcommittee
2. Education Centres Committee
3. Educational Day Committee
4. Fellowships Committee
5. Congress Awards Committee
6. Programme Committee
7. Young Surgeons’ Committee

The SICOT Education Centre is a focal point for stimulating and improving education in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. It is a physical entity in a university or hospital that will assist in the education of orthopaedic trainees and continuing the knowledge of orthopaedic surgeons.
The needs of Orthopaedic residents, fellows and practicing Orthopaedic surgeons around the world are evolving constantly. At the same time, evidence-based knowledge in Orthopaedics is expanding at a very rapid rate. Moreover, all the residents around the world need to take exams at some stage in their career to mark completion of training and/or demonstrate competency.
