SICOT Research Awards

 

 

The SICOT Research Award Programme comprises three awards of 2,000 US dollars each. The winners will be chosen based on scientific merit by the newly formed Research Academy with one winner in each of the following areas:

  1. Clinical Science.

  2. Basic Science.

  3. Young Investigator (main author must be less than 40 years old).

Papers submitted for the contest must be complete papers on original work, not previously published or submitted for publication. The SICOT award winning manuscripts will be published in International Orthopaedics. All other submitted manuscripts will be considered for publication in International Orthopaedics following the regular peer-review process.

The awards are open to both SICOT and non-SICOT members. We are asking interested applicants to submit full manuscripts in the format suitable for publication in International Orthopaedics electronically to awards@sicot.org. The last date for submission is 15 July 2019.

This format requires the submitted manuscript to be no more than 2,500 words, abstract of 150 words, no more than 5 figures and 3 tables and a maximum of 25 references.

Winners will be notified by end of August 2019. One of the authors of each winning manuscript must be prepared, at her/his own expense, to come and present the paper at the SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress in Muscat, 4-7 December 2019.
