SICOT-ASAMI-BR & ILLRS: The Art of Bone Transport
The next SICOT PIONEER joint webinar, “The Art of Bone Transport,” brings together international expertise in limb reconstruction to explore contemporary approaches to the management of challenging bone defects.
Organised by the SICOT Limb Reconstruction Committee in partnership with ASAMI-BR and the International Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society (ILLRS), the session will feature four expert faculty members and six distinguished panellists.
The webinar will examine the principles and practical application of bone transport, moving from technical skill towards the more complex decision-making required in reconstructive surgery. Topics will include classification-based treatment, the evolution of bone transport techniques, management of massive combined bone and soft-tissue defects, and approaches to particularly complex cases.
A key focus will be on how careful planning, appropriate technique selection and refined surgical execution can influence limb reconstruction outcomes.
The international faculty and panel format will also provide an opportunity to compare approaches, discuss challenging scenarios and share experience from different centres and healthcare systems.
As part of the SICOT PIONEER programme, the webinar reflects SICOT’s commitment to accessible international education and the exchange of specialist orthopaedic knowledge.
