The B. Braun Aesculap/SICOT Orthopaedic Scholarships are open to surgeons from eastern Europe who want to evolve their knowledge and skills into innovative concepts in orthopaedic reconstructive surgeries of the hip and knee. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is offering a six- or twelve-month research fellowship to US or internationally trained orthopedic surgeons. Prerequisite for the research fellow application is excellent oral and written command of the English language, graduate of medical school and residency program, interest in pediatric orthopedic surgery, submission of a complete application with letter of recommendation before the deadline of 30 June 2013 (for the July 2014 fellowship), and on time visa application, where applicable. German SICOT Fellowships (only available to best candidates of the SICOT Diploma Examination)
The fellowship was awarded for the first time in 2005 to the two best candidates who passed the annual SICOT Diploma Examination. The two fellows are invited to visit well-known German orthopaedic centres for a period of four weeks. Travel is organised by the German Section of SICOT. Special interests of the fellows will be taken into consideration in the choice of hosting centres. The sponsorship also includes: an economy class air ticket, food and accommodation, travel expenses within Germany and an allowance up to a maximum total of EUR 2,500 per fellow.
The two candidates (who must be members of SICOT) are selected by the Board of Examiners at the end of the SICOT Diploma Examination. Besides an excellent exam, good knowledge of the English language is the main selection criterion.
The purpose of the fellowship is to reward participants in the examination for their achievements and to give them the opportunity to meet with leading German orthopaedic surgeons.
Hiranandani Orthopaedic Medical Education (HOME) Fellowships (open)

Hiranandani Orthopaedic Medical Education (HOME) is a department that is dedicated to the field of clinical research in Orthopaedics. HOME is working on a number of projects related to clinical research in adult hip and knee surgery. HOME conducted its first workshop on scientific publication (WOSP) in December 2009, in collaboration with the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (British Volume). NUH/SICOT Trauma Fellowship Award (closed)
This new fellowship will give young surgeons (below the age of 40), who are from the Asia Pacific region and SICOT members, an opportunity to train in orthopaedic trauma in Singapore for six weeks. The fellowship is funded with the support of Zimmer Pte. Ltd. which includes an economy return flight ticket, accommodation and daily allowances for the entire duration of the fellowship. SICOT Travelling Fellowships (closed)
Every year, SICOT offers two young surgeons three-month fellowships to visit an international medical centre. The aim is to attend and learn at a renowned education centre to improve knowledge and surgical skills. The value of each fellowship is EUR 4,000, which includes travel and accommodation. "SICOT meets SICOT" Fellowship Programme (open)

This SICOT programme allows surgeons, who are members of SICOT under 40 years of age and have finished their residency, to undertake a training programme at a centre of excellence. The candidates will have access to, and the possibility to train in, all the orthopaedic subspecialties represented at the centre. TTSH/SICOT Trauma & Hand Fellowship Award (closed)

The TTSH/SICOT Trauma & Hand Fellowship will give the fellow a comprehensive exposure to both subspecialties (Trauma Surgery and Hand Surgery for 3 months each). It will be a unique experience as both services complement each other in managing trauma cases requiring fixation and soft tissue coverage. Apart from this, there will be opportunities for research and teaching. All young surgeons (below the age of 40) from around the world who are SICOT members are eligible to apply. The fellowship will be funded with a monthly allowance of SGD 2500 every month for the duration of the fellowship. No other allowances or monetary payment in any form will be given. Read more...
