The collection and distribution of knowledge has been a major goal for SICOT for many years. Nowadays this has become easier with the development of IT, which is changing the world. With this in mind, SICOT has created this electronic learning programme:
SICOT Global Network of Electronic Learning = SIGNEL
This programme has been organised under the aegis of SICOT Education. As conceptualized, a well-known international SICOT surgeon presents a webinar on the second Friday of every month. This is open to orthopaedic surgeons in India and other parts of the world. In India it is targeted to 5,000 surgeons. The programme has a website called www.sicotoep.com and it is financially supported by Abbott Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.
SICOT’s mission is to spread knowledge about orthopaedics and traumatology throughout the world. Since the importance and popularity of online education is increasing every day, SICOT has been collaborating with VuMedi to provide online education to the global orthopaedics and traumatology community. This strategic cooperation with VuMedi has been initiated and managed by the SICOT Young Surgeons Committee. You will be able to participate live and interact with speakers during the webinars. The lectures will also be accessible for viewing later on via the SIGNEL and VuMedi websites.
The Cases of the Month are published in the SICOT e-Newsletter.
The SICOT Editorial Department invites the SICOT members to participate in its call for cases by submitting their cases to firstname.lastname@example.org. The cases will be reviewed and possibly adapted to fit the "Case of the Month" layout. The reviewers reserve the right to refuse any case. Click on a link below to see the content and layout of previous cases. The "Guidelines for Authors" can be found here.
The abstracts of special papers selected from the official SICOT journal, International Orthopaedics, are published in the SICOT e-Newsletter and are listed on this page.
Devi Prasad Shetty will be delivering the Presidential Lecture at the Opening Ceremony.
We are pleased to announce that Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Fares Haddad, and Ashok Johari will be the plenary speakers at the SICOT Congress in Cape Town.
Several awards will be granted at the Congress to reward surgeons for their scientific achievement or to help young doctors attend the Congress by supporting them financially.
