International Registration


     
What is included?

Registration fees for conference participants included:

  • access to the
    • scientific sessions
    • trade exhibition 
    • poster area
    • Awards/Closing Ceremony
  • the Final Programme
  • the USB key of Abstracts
  • lunch boxes at every lunch break
  • coffees during the two breaks per day

Registration became effective once the registration form and payment have been received by the Conference Secretariat. Every participant who had completed the registration process received a registration number and a confirmation of registration. 

   
Fee deadlines

Early fee: until and including 17 May 2010
Normal fee: from 18 May to 25 July 2010

Value Added Tax (VAT)

SICOT is legally obliged to charge 25% Swedish VAT on all fees quoted. According to the European Union VAT Directive, VAT of the country hosting the conference must be charged. Article 53 of the VAT Directive states that "cultural, artistic, sporting, scientific, educational, entertainment and similar activities are taxed at the place where those services are physically carried out".


  
Presenting authors

IMPORTANT NOTE: The presenting author must have registered and paid the conference registration fee to have his/her abstract included in the Final Programme. The International Conference Secretariat did not check if co-authors had registered. 

  
Trainees

Participants who registered as trainees only received the confirmation of registration if they supplied evidence that they are under 40 years of age and actively engaged in a training programme. Please send the Conference Secretariat a copy of your passport or birth certificate and a letter from your supervisor.   

    
Groups

To register groups of over 10 participants, please contact the Conference Secretariat.

    
Companies

Under EU law, companies which are registering participants and are located within the European Union must supply their VAT (Value Added Tax) number.


      
Social Programme

The Opening Ceremony & Welcome Reception, Presidents' Dinner and Fun Night were not included in the conference registration fee. Read more about the social programme... 

 
Sporting Events

The golf and tennis tournaments and the charity run were not included in the conference registration fee. Read more about the sporting events...


   
Visas

Nationals in the majority of countries outside the EU require a visa to visit Sweden and the other Schengen countries. A list of countries whose nationals require a visa for entry into Sweden and further information can be found on the official website of the Swedish Government (opens in new window). If you need an invitation letter for visa purposes, please contact the Conference Secretariat at congress@sicot.org, and mention your passport number in the message.

   
Cancellation and change requests

  • Participants who cancel their registration before 31 May 2010 will receive a 75% refund of the amount paid.
  • No refunds will be made for cancellations received after 31 May 2010.
  • Name changes will incur a charge of EUR 30 per replacement.
  • A handling fee of EUR 35 will be retained in the event of cancellation of social activities before 31 July 2010. No refunds will be made for cancellations of social events received after 31 July 2010. 
  • Refunds will be processed after the Conference.
